Now that's a fire!

BONFIRE! Don't forget that we are having a bonfire at the Bartelett's house this coming Saturday from 3:00pm to 9:00pm. We will play some sports/games from 3:oo to 5:00, get the fire going good from 5:00 to 6:00, roast up dogs (hotdogs of course), mallos, and other stuff from 6:00 until 7:00, and then kick it around the fire until we decide to go home. Don't forget to bring a chair of some sort (I have extras if you need them).

I will meet at the church building at 2:30 for whoever needs a ride, or give me a call and I can even pick you up. Also, be sure you invite some friends!

Rain Plan: OK, if it rains too much, I will send out another message like this canceling it. So unless you get an email by about noon, plan to be there!

Finally, something to think about: It's hard to keep a bonfire going without wood to burn. It's also hard to keep your spiritual fire going without being around other Christians and learning from God's word. Wednesday night - James and I had a great discussion with Tony (the new guy most of you met on Sunday). He was the only one who showed up! I know some of you have basketball and other events going on but try your best to get here and if you can't make Wednesday - try even harder to get in on Sunday morning! Keep your fires burning!

I love you all and I hope to see you Saturday!

Trash Day

So yesterday was trash day. And guess what? Yep, I forgot to take out the trash cans. So I sat there in a meeting thinking about what I was going to do with this week's trash as it built up. I could try to load it in my trunk and take it to the dumpster at work. I could try to put some in my neighbor's can. I could just try to squeeze a few more bags into my can. I wasn't sure what I was going to do but I knew there had to be some solution.

I bet you all know how I felt... Like I was trying to deal with a situation that I couldn't control. It gets frustrating! But while I was worrying and planning, Bobbie did something so easy and wonderful... She called and asked them for help! They said they will come by and do a courtesy pickup the next day! Situation over.

God will do the same thing. If we feel like we are in a situation where we aren't in control and maybe even missed the chance to have our sin taken away, it's not too late. All you need to do is call on God and ask Him! He'll come right over and help you with whatever you need.

Of course, this is just a quick analogy but I'm sure you can understand my point. It's a New Year and great time to call and have Him come into your life! Do it today!
