It's that time of the year...

Well, it is almost the end of 2005! It's the time of the year when people try to make new goals for the next year. And I think it is a very good thing to have goals. As a matter of fact - I think everybody should make goals!

But before you start thinking of all the great things you can do with 2006, take a look back at the great things you did in 2005. For example, how many times did you make somebody smile last year? 50? 250? More?

How many times did you help somebody feel better? 10 times? More?

How many times did you stop to pray to God? Weekly? Daily? More?

How many times did you sacrifice time or money for somebody else?

How many times did you read your Bible?

These are all things we all do sometimes (some more, some less). I think this is a great place to start setting new goals since these are the types of things we can take to Heaven with us!

We can't take our bodies, our money, our diplomas, our cars, our houses, or even our friends! The only thing we get to take is our character, our attitude, and our soul. So if we can set goals to make those things better, we will always be working on something that will last forever.

I know this seems like something we shouldn't have to think about, but we do. So when you think about 2006, don't forget to set the goals that really matter - the ones that have to do with your relationship with God!

See you all at my house Friday night!
Vince
